Inventory Control.

As marine & maritime technologies evolve, distant voyages are more accessible. With cruise speeds often exceeding 20 knots and autonomy reaching 2.000 miles, modern yachts are larger, faster and more seaworthy than their a. However, a new challenge has arisen: the efficient management of the vessel’s massive inventory.

Through the centuries, one of the most challenging aspects of operating a ship has been controlling its inventory of parts and spare parts. In the past, parts and items would be checked in one by one using pen and paper, making it a difficult and time-consuming task for the crew when a part was urgently needed. Recent advancements with computer spreadsheets made only incremental improvements.  ShipView takes a huge technological step forward with a simple inventory control interface. ShipView can record and track every product, part, and even part assemblies in inventory, locating them quickly and easily. Documentation and photos can be attached to inventory items for convienent reference. Furthermore, stock quantities are updated automatically and alert notifications are used when stocks are running low assuring that critical items and consumables are always available.

Personnel Management.

Luxury yachts are ever growing in size. Superyachts are now Megayachts. New services and features that decades ago were a mere fantasy are now a reality. Large vessels however need large crews. Managing so many different people with diverse specialties, on-board responsibilities and nationalities has become a critical challenge to the operation of a sophisticated yacht. ShipView solves the complexity of crew and guest management with a simple and powerful user interface.

The individual data of each crew member and guest is separately managed. Special attention is given to expirable documents, such as passports, visas and certificates. Alert notifications assure that individuals are in compliance with maritime and international law removing the threat of a journey that could end unexpectedly.   Furthermore, ShipView documents and monitors other critical crew member data such as next-of-kin contact information, medical history, responsibilities, wardrobe and leaves-of-absence in a private and efficient manner.

Digital Library of Documents.

Due to the large number of operation and maintenance documents it is essential for a modern yacht to have a digital and integrated virtual library that organizes documents into categories. Documents can be attached to specific parts and even crew members. These documents, ranging from manufacturing manuals, technical drawings and schematics, certificates and reports are easily accessible, cross referenced and collated making them available at a moment’s notice.
